These olives ("Negrinha de Freixo" variety) are cultivated from centennial trees in the beautiful Douro region. They are known for their unique flavor and freshness, which is a result of being marinated with Mediterranean herbs and extra virgin olive oil. They are typically used as a snack or as an ingredient in cooking and is a popular product from Douro region.
The olives have no additives nor preservatives. Arribas do Douro extra virgin olive oil, in which the olives are submerged, acts as seasoning but also as a preservative, along with the garlic and other condiments. The final product has a purpose to be joined with a meal, bringing to the consumer the notable traces of a Mediterranean gastronomical culture.
