Tomelo, Eco Desenvolvimento, Lda was founded in 2006 and has been actively involved in numerous projects aimed at developing the Northeast region of Portugal, particularly in Vimioso and Miranda do Douro. One of their most notable initiatives is the production of donkey milk soaps, made from milk sourced from the only Portuguese donkey breed, which is currently endangered.
Tomelo's mission is to enhance the appreciation of the Northeast region of Portugal, along with its human, natural, and genetic heritage. They aim to develop, produce, distribute, market, and export exceptional products. They strive to generate sustainable employment to combat regional desertification and to create value from underappreciated native raw materials.
Donkey milk is rich in vitamins, proteins, and fatty acids that boost collagen production in human skin. Additionally, its antioxidant properties help slow down skin aging. Consequently, using these products can enhance skin firmness and elasticity.
