After many years of working for others, Luis Seabra embarked on his own journey in 2013 with the creation of Luis Seabra Vinhos. The mission is to craft wines that authentically reflect their origins, following a philosophy of minimal intervention to preserve their natural character. The goal is to create wines that express the unique characteristics of the various soils, altitudes, and exposures of the vineyards.
Recognizing that this is just the beginning of a long journey, Luis Seabra is committed to discovering and working with old, often overlooked vineyards. These ancient vines, though not lush or imposing, exhibit a slender, twisted elegance and a serene resilience developed over years. They endure heat peaks, water stress, and untimely rain with greater fortitude than younger vines. Each vineyard, with its distinct site and varietal mix, imparts a unique character to the wines. By respecting the individuality of these grapes in the winery, the wines produced are subtle, complex, and reflective of the deep experience and character of their source.

TERROIR
Sustainably farmed vineyards planted from 1960 to 1980 in schist soil at 400-600 m (1,232-1,968 ft) elevation.
TASTING NOTES
Bright garnet. High toned red and blue fruit aromas, tinged with wet stone and violets. On the palate, lush, but with bright acidity to balance the red cherry and pomegranate fruit. White pepper, slate and herbal aromas overlay the core of fruit on a juicy, fresh finish.
