Pinha Red Reserva 2017 - Dão

Pinha Red Reserva 2017 is made by Magnum. Magnum was born from the dream of Carlos Lucas, a man from Dão, linked to his roots since forever. A company dedicated to the production of quality wines, with a team created by people with a continuous interest innovative and dynamic, never disabling tradition and history. Quinta do Ribeiro Santo is the heart of the company. Production also takes place in Quinta de Santa Maria, in Dão, Quinta das Herédias in Douro, Maria Mora in Alentejo and in the Vinho Verde, Casa Grande de Santana.

Being enviromentaly concerned and respectful for the land, in 2014 Magnum Vinhos was awarded as "The Best Farmer of the year" by the Ministry of Agriculture of Portugal. Nowadays, the company is pursuing the sustainable growth strategy, respecting the land and wines, and aiming to show the authentic sublime of every region where it has vineyards.

This wine has a violet red color, with blackberry and blueberry scent, and slight nuances of pinewood and dry caruma. It is a fresh, young wine with a sweet but elegant palate. Contains sulfites.

The grapes were completely destemmed for stainless steel tanks where they macerated 24 hours at low temperature, before starting the alcoholic fermentation, with selected yeasts and controlled temperature. The alcoholic fermentation lasted about 12 days, with gentle remonstrances for a good extraction of color and aromas. It was aged in French oak barrels for 9 months until it reached the desired structure and potential before leaving for the market.
